The most anticipated Apex Legends Global Series (ALGS) competition of the year, the ALGS Year 3 Championship, will bring 40 of the world’s best squads to Resorts World Arena in Birmingham, UK next month. On the biggest stage yet, competitors will battle for their share of $2 Million USD in total prizing and the title of World Champion. Taking place down the road from Insomnia Gaming Festival, it’s expected to be one of the biggest weekends for gaming and esports in the UK.

ALGS Year 3 Championship Overview

“The Year 3 Championship caps off a record-setting year for the Apex Legends Global Series,” said John Nelson, Sr. Director and Commissioner, Apex Legends Esports, Electronic Arts (EA). “Following two successful Playoffs events in the UK, we’re committed to making this a tentpole moment that not only delivers exciting international competition to fans around the world, but also more ways than ever before to connect with the ALGS community.”

The ALGS Year 3 Championship continues to expand fan experiences for attendees. After introducing team merch booths at the Split 2 Playoffs, the Year 3 Championship will add even more booths, including TSM, Alliance, DreamFire, and more. Teams will be selling official merchandise, giving away free swag, and more to celebrate the Year 3 Championship.

Fans will also have an opportunity to get their hands on limited edition merchandise and meet their favorite players and casters. All ALGS ticket holders will also qualify for discounted tickets to Insomnia Gaming Festival, which will feature additional opportunities to meet Apex Legends cosplayers. Discount codes will be emailed to ALGS attendees.

The Year 3 Championship marks the conclusion of a highly-successful Year 3 Pro League, in which Split 2 was the most-watched split in ALGS history. The recent Year 3 Split 2 Playoffs welcomed a sold-out crowd at Copper Box Arena and drew more than 570,000 peak viewers and 10.5 Million hours watched across the official ALGS channels. 

Fans can expect a familiar format for the Year 3 Championship with an expanded five-day schedule featuring Group Stage play, a two-day double-elimination bracket, and Match Point finals. The tournament schedule is as follows:

  • Group Stage Day 1 - 6th September beginning at 10 am BST 

  • Group Stage Day 2 - 7th September beginning at 10 am BST 

  • Bracket Stage Day 1 - 8th September beginning at 4 pm BST 

  • Bracket Stage Day 2  - 9th September beginning at 12 pm BST

  • Match Point Finals - 10th September beginning at 4 pm BST

Fans at home can watch all of the action on the ALGS Twitch, YouTube, and Steam channels or tune in to a number of ALGS Official Watch Parties, including streams hosted by NiceWigg, Greek, Vickypalami, Restia, and more. Additionally, the event’s main stream will be broadcasted in six languages, allowing the global Apex Legends community to watch all the action.
