Bind received some important changes especially to its teleporter that allowed players to camp. Its pickrate was also reduced which has now been reinstated to previous values in Valorant’s patch 2.04. Other Escalation maps now have the same weightage as Bind but Riot Games stated that the team will be monitoring the changes through community feedback.

Valorant Patch 2.04 Ranked Changes

Ranked is getting multiple changes which includes how ranked progression works. Players will no longer have their ranks lowered when a new Act begins. If you are Radiant at the end of the current Act, you will continue to be on the Radiant leaderboard in the next act. However, your ranked rating will be reduced by 90% and will match players of a lower skill bracket. Radiant players will now need to be a part of the top 500 leaderboard for their respect region and need to maintain a certain ranked rating threshold. Here are the requirements for all regions:

  • Latin America and South Korea: 100 RR
  • Brazil: 200 Rank Rating
  • North America and Asia-Pacific: 300 RR
  • Europe: 400 RR

Valorant Patch 2.04: Tactical Voiceovers

Riot Games has been talking about its initiatives to reduce toxicity and encourage more meaningful communication. TSM Myth recently talked about how 6-year-old Fortnite players communicate more than his Valorant teammates. With the addition of tactical voiceovers, teammates will get voice lines based on location.

We already had generic communication lines like “enemies spotted” and “spike planted” but Riot is adding more context to those lines. In addition to the barebones lines, players will also hear location-based callouts and other important voice lines to help with team play. While it will not replace voice chat, it can be very useful when running into teammates without microphones. The feature is optional and can be disabled if players find it distracting.
