One of the biggest VALORANT invitationals to take place in the North American region is all set to start later today featuring a $25,000 prize pool. The PAX Arena VALORANT Invitational will feature almost all the top VALORANT teams in the region with powerhouses like T1, Gen.G Esports, TSM, 100 Thieves, Cloud9, and more facing off against each other to see whom amongst them is the best in the region.

The matches will be streamed live on the official Twitch channels of both VALORANT and PAX Arena. Twenty matches will be played per day for the first two days of the event on 22nd and 23rd July with the playoffs set to start from 25th July onwards.

PAX Arena VALORANT Invitational

PAX Arena VALORANT Invitational is officially a part of the ‘Ignition Series’. The event is organized by PAX Arena with a total of 20 teams being invited to compete in the tournament. The participants are a good mixture of big organizations and temporary lineups that have been making a name for themselves in the region by winning other smaller competitions.

These 20 teams have been divided into 4 groups of 5 teams each with the tournament itself being divided into two parts, Group Stage followed by the Playoffs.

  • The group stage will be following a round-robin format with the top two teams from each group qualifying for the playoffs. Every match will be a best-of-three series.

  • The playoffs will follow a single-elimination format with every matchup except for the grand finals being a best-of-three series. The grand finals will be a five-game faceoff and will take place on 27th July.

Which group do you guys think is the most competitive? The $25,000 prize pool will only be divided between the teams that qualify for the playoffs. Teams placed 5th - 8th will receive $1000 each, those making it to the semifinals will receive $3,000 each, the runner-up will walk away with $5,000, and the champions will be awarded the grand prize of $10,000 along with the unofficial tag of being the best VALORANT team in North America.

Talking about how the teams might play solid performance can be expected from T1, TSM, and Cloud9, these three teams for sure will be making their way through to the playoffs.

Speaking of some other popular organizations Gen.G Esports has dominated multiple B-Tier tournaments but has not been up to the mark when playing against other big teams, Immortals has not at all been consistent with its performance, and 100Thieves has had a disappointing start to their journey.

Out of the less popular teams that have been invited for the tournament, I see Prospects and Echo 8 doing well as they have consistently played well at multiple weekly and monthly leagues while also winning plenty of C-Tier tournaments. With the tournament set to start in a couple of hours, let’s see which teams come out on top at the end of the first day of the group stage.
