Who Voices Catalyst in Apex Legends?

Catalyst is the newest legend in Apex Legends and she will be playable starting 1st November. She is one of the few defensive legends in the Apex Legends roster and players can’t wait to see how her gameplay turns out. The addition of Catalyst also means that we now have a new voice actor (VA) joining the Apex Legends community and players are excited to see what the VA brings to the table with character interactions and voice lines.

Catalyst is voiced by Meli Grant

Meli Grant is a veteran voice actor who has been a part of tons of anime, movies and games. When it comes to video games she has been a part of Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, Borderlands 3, Smite, Lineage II and Blade & Soul.

Grant has worked with some of the biggest animation and entertainment studios like FUNimation, Media Blasters, Sound Cadence and Bang Zoom! Entertainment. She is also a scriptwriter and has worked on projects like Ejen Ali, ORIENT, Pretty Boy Detective Club, Don’t Toy With Me, and Miss Nagatoro.

She has a much bigger portfolio in the anime sphere where she has worked on some of the most popular anime in the world including Fairy Tail, One Piece, My Hero Academia, Dragon Ball Super, and more. She was also a part of the My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising anime film where she played the role of Chief Commissioner.

Grant is a transgender woman and Respawn Entertainment worked closely with her as well as LGBQT+ advocacy organization GLAAD to ensure Catalyst respectfully represents the trans community. Respawn Entertainment employees were also closely involved with the character-creation process.

While a lot of players might think Catalyst is the first trans character in Apex Legends, the title is actually held by Bloodhound. The recon legend arrived with the very first season and is voiced by Allegra Clark who is also a trans woman.

Catalyst releases on 1st November with the new season of Apex Legends and we can expect additional lore drops about the legends throughout the coming seasons via the comics, Stories from The Outlands videos, and in-game voice lines.
