Winterfest has arrived in Fortnite, but players are stumped by a quest involving everyone's favorite jolly giant, Sgt Winter. The quest asks you to "Collect an item inside a present thrown by Sgt Winter," but Sgt Winter's nowhere to be found. He was present in last year's iteration of the Winterfest event, but players are unable to locate him in Winterfest 2023. If you too are having trouble locating Sgt Winter in Fortnite Ship It! Express, here's what you need to know.
Where is Sgt Winter in Fortnite?
In previous Winterfest events in Fortnite, Sgt Winter could be located around the Fortnite map, in a holiday truck filled with gifts. However, this year Sgt Winter is nowhere to be found.
Fans are scrambling around the 'Visit a Ship It! Express Location' quest-related locations, looking for him, but he was missing from Fortnite this year when the event dropped. Epic Games finally added him to the game today (17th December).
Sgt Winter is currently available in the Winterburg point of interest (POI) and you can head there anytime you want to get gifts. Unlike the 2022 version of the event, he does not spawn with his truck and Red-Rosed Rangers. Instead, he is walking around the PO throwing gifts around. If you get a gift thrown at you, you will automatically complete the associated quest and get 20,000 XP.

Visit Crackshot’s Cabin when the floating loot island appears: 15,000 XP
Emote with Holiday Boxy or Sgt. Winter: 15,000 XP
Help eliminate Krampus to save Winterfest: 15,000 XP
Talk to Holiday Boxy about the stolen box: 15,000 XP
After a few days of absence, Sgt Winter has finally arrived in Fortnite Winterfest 2023. Make sure you head to Winterburg to complete his quest and get a massive XP boost for this season.
