As part of Fortnite’s Winterfest 2023, players received a new yet familiar boss NPC, patrolling the snowy biomes of the map. This boss is none other than Krampus, who was initially added to the game as an outfit back in 2018. As part of this year’s Winterfest, players get access to numerous quests that will reap certain free rewards and XP upon completion. One such quest requires you to use a certain disguise and activate a beacon around Krampus’ location. Here’s how you can complete it.
Where Can You Find Krampus in Fortnite?
As mentioned above, you can find Krampus on the snowy biomes to the south of Hazy Hillside. You will usually find him inside a house with a brown roof and white exterior or patrolling the nearby area.
The quest requires you to do two things; firstly, you will have to disguise yourself as a Sneaky Snowmando prop while you are in the general vicinity of Krampus. To complete the second part of the quest, you will need to activate or deploy a beacon which can be found in the present stash that he stole during Winterfest.
The Snowmando prop is a ground loot that is fairly easy to obtain, however, if you cannot find one, you can also purchase it from Leelah in the Stormy Station for 100 gold ingots. Once you have it in your inventory, head out to Krampus’ lodging and hide yourself in it before you enter it. Make sure he doesn’t spot you entering into the prop.
Deploying the beacon requires you to find the Present Stash which is located just outside the house. You simply need to head over to the stash and interact with it. However, while performing all of this, it is entirely possible that you will run into enemy players who are also trying to complete the same quest, so tread carefully.
Furthermore, you can also eliminate Krampus, ideally by using mid to long-range weapons as he is quite potent in close-quarter combat, thanks to his Pickaxe. Being a boss NPC, Krampus will have a huge health bar which means you will have to stock up on ammo and other resources like shield potions and medkits to take him down.
Once he’s defeated, you will receive 1000 XP and a shiny blue chest will spawn. Inside it, you will find numerous in-game resources along with a legendary weapon drop such as the Ambush hammer Pump Shotgun.
