When Is the Next Escape From Tarkov Wipe?
Escape From Tarkov wipes are a global server reset which revert players back to level 1 and empty their inventories, stripping them of all gear. While this sounds scary to new players, especially if they’ve grinded for the most valuable gear, this is the way Battlestate Games keeps the game fresh and puts everyone on a level playing field again. Here is all you need to know about Tarkov wipes.
When do Escape From Tarkov wipes happen?
Escape from Tarkov wipes occur approximately once every 6 months and usually on a Thursday. This gives players enough time to explore the new content added to the game and grind through the quests, some of which can prove quite difficult for new players. When a wipe happens, players will lose levels, their inventories, quest progress, reputation with traders and be reset back to square one. While Battlestate Games rarely confirms a wipe, the developer builds up hype around the new content coming to the game, often with events that add a twist that brings big changes to Tarkov’s economy and balance. These events start some weeks before a wipe. In the past the events have included Labs opening up, changes in weather and bosses appearing on Customs.
When is the next Escape From Tarkov wipe going to happen?
The last Tarkov wipe took place on 28th December 2023 with the release of Patch 0.13.0.0, so the next Tarkov wipe is likely to happen around 28th June 2023 . The last patch added the Streets of Tarkov, new stims, weapons, crafting, and more. Note that the official wipe date has not been confirmed by Battlestate Games (it rarely ever is) so if there is any change in schedule, the wipe may be delayed. The latest updates for Tarkov included some balance changes:
The developer also held a giveaway with a video released going a little deeper into the lore of the game.
This indicates that a wipe is still a long way away, given that if the wipe is done right after this, the drops will seem pointless, as giving items to people moments before a wipe removes them all.
