There are football-themed events and cosmetics in Modern Warfare 2, Warzone 2, and Call of Duty Mobile.
Pogba, Neymar Jr, and Messi are three new Operators in the franchise.

Top football players Lionel Messi, Paul Pogba, and Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior will be arriving as Operators in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2,  Warzone 2, and Call of Duty Mobile. With the launch of Season 1 in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (COD MW2), Warzone 2 right around the corner, and with the Football World Cup starting very soon, Activision announced its partnership with the football icons. The first season of Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 will deliver action on all fronts to players by introducing the much-anticipated DMZ mode, reimagined maps in multiplayer, and a football-themed event.

Notably, on 4th November, Call of Duty tweeted that Paul Pogba, Neymar Jr., and Messi “are suiting up for a new type of game,” thus confirming their arrival in Warzone 2, Modern Warfare 2, and CoD Mobile.

Football-themed event in Call of Duty

The international game of football is making its impact in Season 01 through the Modern Warfare FC event, said Call of Duty. During this event, players can sign three of the world’s greatest athletes to their Operator roster by picking up special limited-time bundles. The arrival of these three footballers in the Call of Duty franchises coincides with the kick-off of the 2022 Football World Cup. While Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0’s Season 01 starts on 16th November, the World Cup begins on 20th November, just days after the new season launch.

Release date for Neymar Jr, Pogba, and Messi in Modern Warfare 2 & Warzone 2

The three Operator skins will arrive as a part of the Modern Warfare FC event and each of them has a unique release date. They are as follows:

  • 21st November: Neymar Jr

  • 25th November: Paul Pogba

  • 29th November: Lionel Messi

Activision stated that players will be able to get their hands on the Messi, Pogba, and Neymar Jr skins in Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 by picking up the special limited-time bundles in either of the two games.

Usually, these skins come via dedicated bundles and cost approximately 2400 CoD Points (CP) which translated to around $20 USD. However, it is to be noted that these operator bundles include other items like weapon blueprints, weapon charms, stickers, player cards, player emblems, and finishing moves.

Activision wrote, “More details, including information on a limited-time CODBall mode and a community Support Your Team Pick’em minigame, will be shared in-season.

Therefore, players can look forward to a limited-time mode in the two games alongside a mini-game.

Pogba, Neymar Jr, & Messi in Call of Duty Mobile

Meanwhile, in Call of Duty Mobile, players will have to spend CP in order to unlock them. You can purchase the Battle Pass for the chance to earn all of the content available in the World Class season, including the Paul Pogba Operator Skin for 220 CP. On the other hand, Messi and Neymar Jr. can be obtained through a lucky draw where you can spend CP in order to pull a draw.  Following this, you will receive a random reward. The probability of getting Messi and Neymar Jr. operator skins might be quite low, but on the bright side, once you get a reward, it will be excluded from the draw. Therefore, you can eventually get your hands on the footballers. Call of Duty Mobile Season 10: World Class launched on 9th November.
