What Is Radiant Virtue in League of Legends?
It has been nearly two weeks since the League of Legends Preseason kicked off and as usual, the 2023 League of Legends season, aka Season 13, brought significant changes. Players who have been around for quite some time will tell you how the game had a massive overhaul of items in-game where Riot Games added a new item tier system – Epic, Legendary, and Mythic – that enabled players to show off their creativity and also itemize according to their roles. In the League of Legends 2023 preseason, Riot Games has added three new Mythic items and also reworked older items. One such new Mythic item is Radiant Virtue, an item that offers ability haste, health, armor, and magic resistance. The name Radiant Virtue might sound too philosophical but the item is pretty straightforward.
Riot Games, , said that it introduced Mythic items with the intention that they get purchased first as the item that defines playstyles. However, players tested different build variations which led to Riot Games revisiting its Mythic philosophy. “Now believe that these items don't always have to be first-item rushes. Sometimes a Legendary item better fits the item profile a champion is looking for and given the wide breadth of champion playstyles in the game we believe there's no need to be overly restrictive.”
As a result Riot Games has revamped tank Mythics without the presence of immolate, allowing them to focus less on damage/farming and more on enabling the core tank fantasies of having tons of durability or crowd control.
The three Mythic tank items introduced are:
Jak’Sho, the Protean
Riot Games has also reworked Frostfire Gauntlet back to its former frosty glory: Iceborn Gauntlet and moved Turbo Chemtank and Sunfire Cape to the Legendary item section.
Radiant Virtue: What is it and how does it work?
While describing the new Mythic, Radiant Virtue, Riot Games wrote, “Become a shining light and lead the charge as a beacon of hope for your allies.”
The following are Radiant Virtue’s stats:
Gold Cost: 3000
Magic Resist: 30
Ability Haste: 20
In order to build Radiant Virtue, players need to follow this build path: Aegis of the Legion + Kindlegem + Ruby Crystal
Radiant Virtue’s passive is called Guiding Light. Upon release its toolkit read, “Upon casting your ultimate you Transcend, increasing your max health by 10% for 9 seconds. While Transcended, you and allies within 1200 range of you gain 15 non-ultimate ability haste and heal for 1% of your max health every 3 seconds, increased by up to 100% based on that champion's missing health. 60-second cooldown.” Meanwhile, its Mythic passive is that it grants all other Legendary items 100 health.
In the immediate hotfix patch that was released on 17th November, Radiant Virtue underwent the following changes:
Heal health ratio increased to 2% maximum health from 1%.
Basic ability haste increased to 20 from 15.
Bug Fix: No longer sometimes causes allies' abilities' cooldowns to be permanently reduced by haste.
