Here is all you need to know about what happened to Plunder in Warzone.

Call of Duty Warzone players have several modes like Plunder to choose from when playing the battle royale. Plunder is quite popular among Warzone enthusiasts, providing a laid back alternative to the more hardcore modes. Warzone has a playlist of different modes, maps and squad sizes which are cycled through every week. However, this week players were surprised to find Plunder missing from the playlist. This has led to players wondering what happened to the Plunder game mode in Warzone.

Was Plunder removed from Warzone?

Plunder is currently unavailable to play in Warzone. Plunder has been replaced by Lockdown. Warzone developer Raven Software posted the updated playlist on X (formerly known as Twitter).

Some players have asked the developers to bring back Plunder.

When is Plunder returning to Warzone Season 1?

Unfortunately there is no word from Raven Software about when Plunder will be back in the game. With the next playlist update due on 11th January, fans are unsure if Raven Software will bring back the mode. The only available modes are Battle Royale, Resurgence, and Lockdown.

What is Plunder game mode in Warzone?

Plunder was added at the launch when Warzone came out, returning to Warzone 2.0 on 26th April 2023 with the Season Three of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. The game mode adds a unique twist to standard BR gameplay. With shorter match durations, Plunder pits teams against each other to collect one million in cash, instead of trying to be the last person/squad to survive. Unlike Battle Royale, players have unlimited respawns and redeployments and can spawn with their own loadouts and Field Upgrades.

Collecting the cash requires players to open Supply Boxes, completing Contracts or taking out enemy players who will drop a percentage of the cash they were holding. Cash Drops containing $100,000 also appear around the map. Squads with the most money are marked with a red bag icon and a red crown icon for the squad with the most cash. You can prevent losing the cash by depositing it in a Cash Deposit Balloon, a Field Upgrade that can be found in Supply Boxes or bought from Buy Stations.

Once a squad has reached one million, an overtime timer appears with a 4-minute countdown and all the cash collected afterward is automatically deposited. In addition, all the cash collected by every squad during the overtime is multiplied by 1.5x.
