Watching You Quest & Hotel Room 215 Key: Streets of Tarkov Guide

Hotel room 215 key is a key in Escape from Tarkov that comes into play in the new Streets of Tarkov map. The new map was added as part of the 0.13 update and is the ninth location added to the game. It houses banks, malls, hotels, and all the other major amenities and also has multiple vantage points that offer lines of sight into open areas, allowing for long-range engagements. Streets of Tarkov also has over ten exfiltration (exfil) or extraction (extract) locations. The hotel room 215 key is used to unlock the door to a room in the Pinewood hotel and plays a major part in the Watching You Quest given by trader Sergey Arsenyevich Samoylov aka the Mechanic.

Watching You quest and hotel room 215 key explained

The Watching You quest is a continuation of the Broadcast - Part 2 quest given by Mechanic. You need to possess the hotel room 215 key in order to finish this task and the key can be found in:

• The pockets and bags of Scavs

• Jackets

• Drawers

• Flea market

Simply put, Room 215 is located on the second floor of the northern Pinewood hotel building on the Streets of Tarkov. Your PMC will start just outside the Pinewood Hotel near the Underpass extract entries. 

When you take up the quest, the Mechanic tells you that there is an unusual task and that one of his clients was living in the area of the hotel when the events began. “He had reason to believe he was being watched. He saw a couple of leaked photos from the hotel courtyard. We need to find the room where the rat is sitting. Most likely, you'll find something if you look for tech: cameras, bugs... Anything you find, give it to me. It'll come in handy.”

The Watching You quest objectives are:

• Locate the surveillance spot on the Streets of Tarkov

• Obtain the observation results

Once you enter Room 215, you will notice a telescope and a camera near the window. Here, you will also spot a flash drive. Note that if the flash drive is not near the window, it could potentially spawn elsewhere in the room as it has multiple spawn locations.

This is the item that you need to safely extract with. When you pick it up, the flash drive is transferred to the player's quest item inventory. If you fail to extract with this item, you will lose it.

Just like any other raid, you will have to survive the extract in order to finish the quest and collect the rewards.
