Warzone 2.0 players are facing unexplained crashes without error codes but there are a few simple solutions to fix the issue.
Crashes are often caused by corrupt game files or overlocking which can be easily resolved through some tweaks.
Make sure that you are on the latest version of Windows and that your graphics drivers are updated.

Warzone 2.0 launched recently and despite the positive reception, the game does have some issues that have left players frustrated. The game keeps crashing without an error code for some players but there are a few ways to solve the issue without a full reinstall. Here is a quick guide to help you fix Warzone 2.0’s crashes without errors.

How to fix Warzone 2.0’s crashes without error codes

Solution 1: Repair Game Files

On PC, you can try repairing the game files if Warzone 2.0 keeps crashing for you.

  1. Open Steam or Battle.net, depending on which launcher, your game is located in.

  2. Find Warzone 2.0 in your Library

  3. On Steam: Right Click on Warzone > Click on Properties > head to Local Files > Click on Verify Integrity of Game Files
On Origin: Find the Gear icon next to the play button when clicking on Call of Duty and click on it. Click on the Scan and Repair option.

  4. The game files will now be automatically verified and any corrupt files will be removed.

Solution 2: Disable XMP and Overclocks

If the above solution did not work, and if you have tried all common solutions already then you should try disabling Extreme Memory Profiles (XMP) on your RAM. While the feature is meant to give you a performance boost by overclocking your computer’s memory (RAM), Warzone 2.0 can run into issues. You will need to look for solutions on how to disable XMP for your specific motherboard as the user interface and settings menus can vary drastically for different motherboards. When I faced the issue, a simple automatic overlock to 3666 Hz from 3600 Hz made the game unstable and it led to crashes without errors.

  1. In the Windows search bar, type in 'cmd' and hit enter.

  2. In Command Prompt, type in “wmic baseboard get product,Manufacturer.”

  3. The name of your motherboard will be displayed

  4. Search how to get into the BIOS menu for the motherboard that you own

Once you find out how to get into the BIOS menu, disable XMP. The setting is typically found in the overclock or security settings in the BIOS menu of your motherboard.

If you have a factory overclocked graphics card or if you have manually overclocked your processor or graphics card, you need to disable it and that should resolve these Warzone 2.0 crashes without errors. Please refer to your hardware manual for further assistance with overclocking settings. If you are note sure how to proceed, consult your computer’s support channels or someone who can help you with your specific hardware.

Solution 3: Update Graphics Card Drivers

Update or reinstall your graphics card drivers if you are still facing the error.

AMD Users

  1. Visit the AMD Driver and Support page: https://www.amd.com/en/support

  2. Click the ‘DOWNLOAD NOW’ button to begin downloading the AMD Driver Auto-detect tool.

  3. Once the download is complete, run the file from the save location.

  4. When prompted, click Install to begin the setup process.

  5. Click Next until the update completes for your graphics driver.

NVIDIA Users

  1. Search for NVIDIA GeForce Experience in the Start menu.

  2. Click on the first result.

  3. Click on Drivers.

  4. Click on Check for Updates or Update.

  5. Wait for the download to complete and click on Install.

  6. Click on Next until the installation is complete.

Solution 4: Edit Registry Files

Warzone 2.0 can sometimes crash without errors due to registry issues.

  • Right-click on your desktop

  • Hover on New and click on “Text Document”

  • Rename the file to fix.reg

  • Right-click and click on Edit

  • Add the following code to the file

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\GraphicsDrivers] “TdrDelay”=hex(b):08,00,00,00,00,00,00,00

  • After you are done pasting the text, save the file and exit the text editor.

  • Double click on the saved file and click on “Yes”

  • Restart your computer

Sometimes bad sectors in your storage drive can cause issues. You should use tools like CrystalDiskInfo to check for potential issues in your storage drives.

If you are still facing issues consider reaching out to Activision Support.
