Riot Games’ hero first-person shooter Valorant has seen enormous success in the esports industry and the gaming community since its release in 2020. The developers keep the game interesting by adding new content in the form of new maps, agents, game modes, and cosmetics. However, just like any other online multiplayer game, Valorant also has its fair share of errors and bugs. But most of them are easily solvable in just a few steps. In case they are beyond your control, a ticket to Riot Games will solve the issue at hand.
One such error is the Valorant chat service unavailable message. Here’s all you need to know about it and how to solve it.
Valorant Chat Service Unavailable: What Is It?
The ‘Valorant chat service unavailable’ has been in the game since the early stages of its closed beta testing. It essentially prevents you from communicating with your in-game friends or even adding or inviting them to a match. In a game that is meant to be played and enjoyed with friends, this error is surely frustrating.
In Valorant, the team is highly dependent on callouts and directions from all five players to take easy round wins and eventually win the game. The game demands all five players to talk strategies and sync utilities to then shoot, plant/defuse the spike, and win rounds.
The error basically acts like a chat restriction that is notoriously known in Riot Games’ other IP League of Legends. But the only issue is that you do not know why you are facing this error, especially when you are not being punished for your negative actions in-game.
Here are some possible fixes to overcome the Valorant chat service unavailable error:
Network Reset:
On your PC, right-click the Start bar
Go to Settings and navigate to Network & Internet
Now go to Advanced Network settings
Here, find Network Reset and do it.
But keep in mind that doing a Network Reset is tricky. It will remove and then reinstall all your network adapters, and set other networking components back to their original settings. You might have to reinstall other networking software afterward, such as VPN client software or virtual switches.
Some of the other simple solutions you can try are as follows:
Power cycling router: Try rebooting your router by disconnecting it from its power source. Now, wait for 15 seconds, and then plug it back in.
Restarting the Valorant client: This is one of the first things you should try when you encounter any error message in-game. Quit Valorant, close all instances related to the game and its client from the Task Manager and open it again.
If none of these fixes work for you, the best you can do is check if the servers are working properly. If there is a server downtime, wait it out or reach out to Riot Games support by explaining your issue.
