With 2023 coming to an end, Twitch viewers and streamers got a glimpse of their journey on Twitch this year. The annual Twitch recap gave viewers statistics related to how long they spent on the platform, who they watched the most, and their top categories, amongst other things.
This year, Twitch rolled out three types of Recaps: Viewer, Creator, Community. Depending on your activity on the streaming platform, you may qualify for one, two, or all three Recaps. All you need to do is navigate between the three icons to see the stats.
Twitch said, "The Viewer Recap includes stats about your viewing activity, such as hours watched, days you visited Twitch, chats sent, and more! This personalized Recap is generated for any user who watched at least 10 hours of Twitch during the eligible window of activity."
This article will guide you if you are a viewer and you would like to know about your recap and how to get the Chat Badge and the GoatEmotey Global Emote.
Where can I see my Viewer Twitch Recap 2023?
When you open Twitch, you should be able to a new pop-up in the 'Notifications' tab on the top-right. It will read: "Get your personalized Recap and see how you came together with your favorite communities on Twitch."
Some players may not be able to access their Twitch recaps easily due to settings on their account. If players have certain notification settings, you’ll probably not see the pop up to view your recap for this year. In that case, you can directly go to this link here.
Twitch Recap 2023 Chat Badge
The Twitch Recap 2023 went live on 11th December and allowed streamers and users alike to look back and celebrate the past year. As part of the Recap celebration, Twitch also rewarded the most engaged Twitch users of 2023 with an exclusive Recap Chat Badge.
If you had received the Chat Badge, you should see this pop up on your recap page:
"Chat Badge Unlocked! You were a top user. Own it! Show off your super-excellent, shiny, new badge in chat."
This exclusive Chat Badge is for the bonus achievement of being a Top Twitcher. Twitch says, "As one of our most engaged users, you qualified for the Recap chat badge."
It is to be noted that only the top, most engaged users across Twitch qualified for this unique chat badge.
You will be able to see this unique badge appear near your name in chat and in your profile on Twitch!
GoatEmotey Global Emote
Twitch also added a new Global Emote to its collection to celebrate this end-of-the-year bonanza. On 9th December 2023, it tweeted, "Get your looking-back-on-2023 sunglasses ready with our newest global emote in honor of Recap: GoatEmotey."
This new emote is free to use for all users and all you need to type in chat is GoatEmotey. The emote, as the name suggests, features a goat with sunglasses that changes colors.
