TFT Set 9.5 Horizonbound: Ixtal Trait, Known Units, & Ixaocan Region Portal Explained
The mid-set or Set 9.5 is called Runeterra Reforged: Horizonbound and Riot Games has been posting details about this update since 21st August. Riot Games initially teased Horizonbound, "Explore Bilgewater and Ixtal with Choncc in Runeterra Reforged: Horizonbound, where you’ll portal to new regions, uncover new comps, and equip an updated arsenal of items!"
First, Riot Games posted featurettes about the Bilgewater trait and a new region called Rat Town. Now, the publisher is revealing details about Ixtal, the units under this vertical trait, and also a new region called Ixaocan.
Here's all we know about Ixtal so far in TFT Set 9.5 Horizonbound.
Ixtal Trait, New Units & Ixaocan Portal in TFT
Riot Games introduced Ixtal trait, "With Ixtal, we're seeing a Rise of the Elements: each game, different elemental hexes empower units on them in unique ways."
These hexes will work like the Noxkraya region portal where every time a player selects an augment, a random arena hex will appear. Units on this hex will gain an item that they can use. However, in the Ixtal trait, you do not get items but your units are empowered by elements like fire and water.
Notably, if you place the Ixtal units on them, they are empowered even further.
According to Riot Games, the following are the first few champions featured under the Ixtal vertical trait:
Milio
Qiyana
Neeko
As far as the other new region portal is concerned, it is called the Ixaocan portal. Riot Games said, "While we're here, let’s stop by the capital city of Ixaocan, where the entire lobby works together to unlock increasingly valuable loot!"
Ixaocan Portal: Take a portal to Ixaocan, where starring up a set number of units means all players will gain increasingly valuable loot.
This likely means that players will be able to unlock higher tier loot as the game progresses and it is a late-game portal.
For now, Riot Games has confirmed and revealed Milio's ability and cost in TFT Set 9.5 Horizonbound.
It wrote, "He may be a 1-cost, but don’t underestimate him! It’s Milio’s TFT debut, so give him a warm welcome—he’d do the same for you. One repost is one fuemigo befriended!"
This will be Milio's ability in TFT:
Milio's Ultra Mega Fire Kick launches a fiery ball that stuns the first enemy hit, then bounces to the closest enemy behind them.
While only three Ixtali champions have been revealed, there are several more in League of Legends and some more could possibly join 9.5 Runeterra Reforged: Horizonbound. The other Ixtal champions are:
Rengar
Malphite
Nidalee
Zyra
The new mid-set will go live with Patch 13.18 on 13th September.
