Reconnaissance Quest in Escape From Tarkov Explained

The Reconnaissance quest in Escape from Tarkov is an exploration task given by trader Pavel Yegorovich Romanenko also known as Prapor. The quest takes place on Lighthouse, the eighth map that was added to the game. Note that Lighthouse is the only map in the game to include the Rogues faction and you need to be aware of minefields, claymores, and border snipers while on the location.

As you take up the quest, Prapor tells you that he’s got an important assignment for you and that it is pretty dangerous. “Not everyone is willing to risk their skin under the noses of the Rogues. Ah, here's the fighting spirit! Yeah, I know, you're a tough guy. Alright, so listen. I want to know the situation on Rogues' defenses. Go to the water treatment plant, climb the roofs, check the mounted weapons. Note every little detail, even things that don't seem that important. Is the task clear, war dog?” Prapor details. 

The objectives of the quest are very straightforward. They are as follows:

• Recon the roof of the first office building on Lighthouse

• Recon the roof of the second office building on Lighthouse

• Recon the roof of the third office building on Lighthouse

• Survive and extract from the location

You are required to find the three office buildings on Lighthouse and get on top of the rooftops to recon them. Note that the office buildings are located in the water treatment plant area in the north of the map and you can access all the roofs using the outside stairs. However, you need to get close to the outside ladders of each building while being on their roofs to get quest progress.

You need to be careful while on the water treatment plant as the site is notorious for being filled with Rogues, Rogue bosses, and PMCs.
