Overwatch 2’s newest season brings a limited-time game mode for Season 2 called Battle for Olympus. Following the season’s mythology theme, the Battle of Olympus will feature 7 players decked out in Greecian glory battling it out in Ilios’s Ruins. Here is all we know about the Battle for Olympus game mode.
Olympus limited-time event release date
The event will go on for the next two weeks. Battle for Olympus will be available starting 5th January and last till 19th January 2023. A number of skins and bundles are coming to the event which will be showcased in the upcoming Arcade game mode.
Overwatch 2 Battle for Olympus Gameplay
Battle for Olympus is a free-for-all deathmatch mode featuring seven Heroes with some unique ‘reimagined’ abilities related to their mythological counterparts. You’ll have a limited selection of characters including Junker Queen, Pharah, Widowmaker, Lucio, Reinhardt, Ramattra and Roadhog. Here are some of their reimagined powers:
Zeus Junker Queen: Smite enemies with Commanding Shout
Minotaur Reinhardt: Charge in quick succession
Cyclops Roadhog: Shoots boulders
Hades Pharah: Shoots 3 Rockets
Based on the trailer, the game mode will likely be played on maps like Illios Ruins and Château Guillard. Check out the limited-time event trailer below:
Blizzard Entertainment has also planned a global leaderboard of eliminations for the limited time mode. The Hero with the most kills will be honored with a statue in Ilios.

Poseidon Ramattra, Hades Pharah and Zeus Junker Queen are unlockable through the level 20, 60 and 80 Premium battlepass tiers while the others are available in the shop.
