The Overpopulation quest in Escape from Tarkov is an elimination-type task where the player is asked to carry out a number of kills in order to reap the rewards. It is given by trader Tadeusz Pilsudski also known by his alias Peacekeeper, on Lighthouse, the eighth location that was added to the game. This Overpopulation quest is required to finish the Collector quest and to get your hands on the Kappa Secure Container in Escape from Tarkov. Tarkov’s Overpopulation Quest Explained
Firstly, players should note that Battlestate Games added an update to tweak the Overpopulation quest on 13th March. It wrote on Twitter, “Overpopulation - Changed the amount of experience gained for completing the quest: from 8500 to 12000.”
The quest dialogue by Peacekeeper lets the players know that the former base of the USEC people, in the cottage area at Cape Dalniy, was abandoned with a lot of valuable equipment and information that could sponsor the Blue Helmets operations. He adds, “The only problem is that the entire territory is currently under the control of the Scavs, and I would like to get rid of them, or at least scare them out of this zone so that my people can extract all the necessary resources without combat. This is your task, my friend. Naturally, everything that you have just heard will remain strictly between us. I look forward to your report.”
The quest objective is fairly simple:
Secure the cottage area from Scavs on Lighthouse
But to successfully carry out this objective, players will have to kill 12 Scavs around and between the cottages on Lighthouse.
The places where you can make these kills to count towards the quest are:
Inside or around the Cottage or the Resort home
In and around the Chalet including the Tennis compound
