Unlocking Ranked Gameplay
Players can get placed in different ranks by unlocking the competitive mode. To do so, players need to have an account level of 20. Once you cross level 20, ranked play will be available for you. You will start with the "Unranked" badge (displayed as a question mark) in Valorant. In order to determine your rank, you will have to play five placement matches. Players should keep in mind that the highest rank achievable through placement games is Ascendant.
Current Valorant Rank Distrubution
At the time of writing, Valorant is currently hosting Episode 7 and Act 3. The rank distribution allows us to evaluate the most and least populated ranks in the game. According to tracker.gg, the current rank distribution is as follows:
The most populated rank currently is Silver 1 with 782,631 players and a ratio of 7.626%. The least-populated rank is the coveted Radiant rank, with just 18,580 players and a ratio of 0.181%.
As continue on your Valorant journey and rank up, you'll notice that the player count keeps decreasing.
