Call of Duty dropped the update for Season 1 Reloaded in Modern Warfare 2 on 14th December and this latest update introduced Raids. Raids are Special Ops missions featured in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. Narratively set after the campaign, Raids are simply described as two-hour episodic missions that feature combat and puzzle-solving. Atomgrad is the first Raid in Modern Warfare 2 which is a cooperative mission that requires squadmates to solve intricate puzzles, use good communication and work together as a team to reap the rewards. However, in order to access the Atomgrad Raid, players need a Raid Assignment.
Raids in Modern Warfare 2
Just like in Destiny 2, the Raids in Modern Warfare 2 will continue the story of the campaign and is a trio mode for players to enjoy. Episode One: Atomgrad was released on 14th December along with Season 1 Reloaded. Infinity Ward confirmed that a new Raid episode shall be added for each future season of Modern Warfare 2, confirming that the game will have five seasons in total. Infinity Ward introduced the concept and wrote, “Raids game mode involving strategic thinking, puzzle-solving and most importantly bouts of intense co-op combat action, launches this year as part of the incredible content drop to come to Modern Warfare 2 players.”
Notably, only the party leader needs to have a Raid Assignment to start a Raid, and here’s how you can get one in Modern Warfare 2:
Complete the Raid Assignment Challenge in Modern Warfare 2
In DMZ mode, use the final extract helicopter with at least $30,000 in cash.
Finish in the Top 20 in Warzone 2
After this, you will be eligible to access a Raid Assignment and you and your squadmates can access the Raid for an entire week.
Atomgrad Raid in Modern Warfare 2
Bear in mind that you and your other two squadmates have to maneuver through an underground facility, complete water puzzles, and take out enemies during the Atomgrad Raid. This will require all three of you to be extremely coordinated and work together. The Atomgrad Raid’s puzzles are randomized on every new playthrough and change multiple times during each playthrough. Therefore, there is no definitive solution. Players will be able to solve them if they understand the basic method and mechanics. The first puzzle in the Atomgrad Raid is opening the doors to a submarine.
Notably, upon successfully completing the Raid, you can unlock hard mode. Just like the standard Raid, you will need two teammates by your side to conquer the hard mode.
According to Infinity Ward, completing Atomgrad Episode 1 on normal difficulty will give you the following rewards:
Gaz: Convoy skin (guaranteed)
One of seven items from the Raid loot pool which can be a player card, emblem, loading screen, or unique weapon blueprint.
