League of Legends Worlds 2021 is expected to take place around October 2021, featuring 24 teams from across the world.
Vietnam is currently facing issues hosting qualifier events, and it may send its 2021 Spring Split champion and runner-up to represent the country.
There will be three stages in Worlds 2021: Play-Ins, Groups, and Knockouts.

League of Legends World Championship event for 2021 is approaching and fans are excited to see if DWG KIA is able to defend its crown from 2020, or if we will see a new team being crowned as this year’s champions. The event was originally slated to be hosted in China, but Riot Games is reportedly considering a move to Europe. The official format of the event is yet to be announced but more information will be available as we get closer to the event. Most teams have already been finalized and the last few qualifier events are underway to determine the 24 teams that will be heading into the event.

Vietnam

With the Vietnam Championship Series (VCS) being cancelled due to the global pandemic, there may be no qualifier events for the region. However, the VCS can send its 2021 Spring Split champions GAM Esports to Worlds 2021. Saigon Buffalo, the runners-up from the same season, is also eligible to be sent to the event. A decision regarding the representatives is yet to be made.

League of Legends Worlds 2021: Format

The exact format of the event is yet to be decided due to the restrictions in place because of the global pandemic. There will be three stages in Worlds 2021: Play-Ins, Groups, and Knockouts. Twelve teams will be directly allotted Groups while the other 12 teams will be competing in play-ins for four spots for the main event. Riot Games will finalize the format closer to the event’s commencement.
