Riot Games’ free-to-play first-person tactical hero shooter Valorant was first teased under the codename Project A in 2019. The game began a closed beta with limited access in April 2020 and was officially released on 2nd June 2020 for players across the globe. Riot Games has been constantly updating the game, rolling out new features, introducing new agents and maps, to keep Valorant interesting and novel.
Recent leaks have suggested that Riot Games could be adding a new feature to the game called Valorant Kingdom Points. Here’s all we know about the Kingdom Points from the leaks on social media.
What are Valorant Kingdom Points?
Firstly, information about the brand new Valorant Kingdom Points was data mined and leaked by prominent leakers such as @VALORANTLeaksEN and @Shiick on Twitter on 25th April.
Shiick wrote, “New icon for a currency ‘Kingdom Points’. Currently unknown what it's gonna be used for.” Meanwhile, VALORANTLeaksEN simply called it a new icon that was data mined.
Right off the bat, leakers and dataminers stated that they do not know what this is for and could be a new currency or reward system for Premier or some other new system that is yet to be introduced in the game. As a result, we do not exactly know when or for what these Kingdom Points will be used for.
Currently, the points system and in-game currency in Valorant are as follows:
Valorant Points (VP): Valorant Points is the premium currency that can only be obtained by purchasing with real money. It is used for purchasing cosmetics, Radianite Points (RP) and upgrading of the battle pass.
Radianite Points (RP): Radianite Points are a form of currency in Valorant used to upgrade owned weapon skins with new visual effects (VFX), audio, animations, finishers and variants of the skins. These upgrades provide no advantages in-game.
So you might wonder what Kingdom refers to in Valorant. If you have been following the lore of the game, you would recall that Kingdom or Kingdom Corporation is an organization in the Alpha Earth. It actively seeks to harness the power of Radiante. You can find logos of Kingdom scattered across different maps in Valorant.
If the leaks are true, Kingdom Points could be another in-game currency. Some players are speculating that it could work similar to the Hextech reward system that League of Legends possesses.
There is no official confirmation on what these Kingdom Point are and what they will be used for, so everything discussed in this article and the leaks mentioned should be taken with a pinch of salt.
