League of Legends can sometimes be an incredibly frustrating game or stale over time. While Riot is looking into reducing toxicity and making the ranked experience better, players may want to take a break from the game. Some players uninstall League of Legends and only come back when modes like URF or One-for-all go live. The game also takes up 16 GB of space on your hard disk, so if you want to make space for another game, you’ll have to uninstall League of Legends. Installing League is as simple as going to the website and hitting the ‘Download’ button. However, uninstalling League of Legends involves a few more steps.
How to uninstall League of Legends
There is no option on the Riot client or League client to uninstall the game. Players will need to access their control panel to remove the game from their systems. Here’s how you can uninstall League of Legends.
Navigate to the Start menu.
Type 'Control Panel'.
Select 'Uninstall a program' below 'Programs'.
Scroll through the list till you find League of Legends
Right click on League of Legends and select Uninstall
The Riot client pop-up will do the rest and uninstall the game.
If you want to free up some more space, go to your file directory and delete any additional files left in your drive. After deleting all the League related files, restart your PC before you install League again. If you run into problems uninstalling League of Legends, this may indicate a larger problem within Windows. It may be a good idea to run a registry cleaner like CCleaner.
If you want to reinstall League of Legends, log in to the Riot client and scroll down to ‘All Games’. Head to League of Legends and install the game through there. Alternatively you can navigate to the League of Legends website and download the game from there.
