Escape from Tarkov is no stranger to error codes, bugs, and other problems.
If you want to take a break from the game, here’s how you uninstall it from your PC.

Escape from Tarkov is a gripping and realistic online first-person action RPG (role-playing game) with MMO (massively multiplayer online game) features and story-driven gameplay. Developed by Battlestate Games, this game is set in the fictional Norvinsk region located on the frontier between Russia and Europe. The metropolis of Tarkov was plunged into anarchy due to the Contract Wards, turning the bustling city into a battlefield filled with scavenger gangs, and private military forces, among others.

While the game is super captivating, Escape from Tarkov is no stranger to error codes and bugs that can prevent you from enjoying the jam-packed action the game promises. Sometimes these issues can be frustrating and you might want to take a break from the game, uninstall it, and free up some space on your PC.

This guide will help you understand the process of uninstalling Escape from Tarkov with detailed step-by-step instructions.

Uninstalling Escape from Tarkov from your PC

In case the game does not appear on the Programs and Features tab in Windows, you will not be able to remove it via the Control Panel. You will need to make use of the official uninstaller provided by Battlestate Games for Tarkov. After that’s done you can proceed to delete related data to fully remove Tarkov from your PC.

The game comes with an official uninstaller and you can access this in the installation folder of Tarkov. Usually, it is located in C:\Battlestate Games\BsgLauncher. If you had changed the default storage path while installing the game, you will have to navigate to that drive to locate the uninstaller.

Here’s an alternative method to locating the uninstaller:

  • Open Escape from Tarkov.

  • Go to the settings tab in the game.

  • Scroll till you find Game Directory and click on it.

  • You will see the file directory of the .exe file open up. Access that window to find the uninstaller.

  • Double-click on the uninstall.exe file and click the Uninstall button to uninstall Escape from Tarkov from your PC.

Once the game is uninstalled, most of the game files will be deleted. If the registry files or the installation folders are still on the PC and you want to delete them, you will have to locate the Battlestate Games folder and the installation folder to remove all things related to Escape from Tarkov fully. Note that by doing this, you will delete all the files on the directories including configuration files and the backup.

You can also make use of a professional registry cleaner like CCleaner to delete all the related game files.
