League of Legends is a game that gets frequent updates in the form of new patches every two weeks.
Sometimes downloading a new patch on the Garena server could be difficult and may render errors.
To bypass these errors in installing an update, players can manually update patches in League of Legends.

League of Legends is a game that keeps constantly evolving and goes through plenty of changes often through patches. A patch is basically a modification to the game files of League of Legends and is otherwise also called a new client version. Riot Games pushes out updates and changes through patches and sticks to a schedule. As a result, players will have to download a new patch every two weeks to play the game and understand the current meta. Sometimes, players on the Garena server face difficulties while updating or patching the game. In that case, players can use the manual patch of League of Legends by downloading and installing it from the official site.

Riot Games just released LoL Patch 12.13 which premiered the newest champion, Nilah, the Joy Unbound. In the patch notes, Riot Games said, “We also have the Star Guardians, new and old, making their appearance again to protect us from the forces of evil. Sivir’s mid-scope update also debuts this patch, not to mention your regularly scheduled balance adjustments.

In the case of your Garena client not being able to download the latest patch or if the download is too slow or stuck at 99%, it is better to install the manual patch for the League of Legends Garena server, as per your region. The Garena website allows players to update the new patch manually if they encounter any error during the automatic update.

For those having trouble with installing LoL Patch 12.13 on the Garena client, you can find the manual patch for League of Legends on the official website.

Follow the below-mentioned steps to manually patch the game:

  1. Go to the Garena website.

  2. Navigate to the Download tab on top of the screen.

  3. Scroll down and find the “Current Patch” sub-heading and download the latest manual patch. At the time of writing, the latest patch is LoL Patch 12.13.

  4. Do not run the .exe file that was just downloaded in the browser.

  5. Open your Garena PC client and click on League of Legends.

  6. When the League of Legends client opens, click on the tiny wrench icon or Settings on the left bottom of the page.

  7. It will open a menu with options including Repair, Locate Game Files, Manual Patch, and Uninstall.

  8. Click on Manual Patch.

  9. Your file explorer should open now.

  10. Locate the .exe file you downloaded and click open.

  11. Now initiate the setup and click next.

  12. Install the game in the folder of your choice and click on Install.

Your game should now be updated with the latest patch and upon opening the League of Legends client, you can go to the client settings and check the version to verify if it is the latest patch that you manually updated. However, make sure that you are logged in to your region’s page since if you are in Singapore and if you download a patch from the Philippines page, your client will not work.
