Player Diff is a Challenge Title in League of Legends.
Here’s how you can sport that title in-game and show off that you’re better than everyone else.

Riot Games’ new feature for League of Legends called Challenges officially launched on 11th May with LoL Patch 12.9. Challenges is an in-game system that tracks a player’s progress on the Summoner’s Rift through unique challenges, letting them rank up from Iron to Challenger, along with its own leaderboard. Notably, it allows players to showcase their achievements in the game lobby and on the loading screen. This was a way for Riot Games to reward players who do not play ranked and acknowledge their impressive activities and stats in all game modes. One such reward is the “Player Diff” title that you get for finishing a Challenge.

You can clearly showcase your role-specific skills in the game lobby and the loading screen and there are plenty of titles available in League of Legends currently. They are as follows:

  • Jungle Diff

  • Top Diff

  • Mid Diff

  • Bot Diff

  • Support Diff

  • Player Diff

The League of Legends community uses the term “diff” while talking to the opponent to stress the fact that their teammate is miles better than their role opponent. Streamer Tyler “Tyler1” Steinkamp made it popular with his “Jungle Diff” phrase. While the above-mentioned list of titles is self-explanatory, players are wondering how to get the “player diff” title in-game.

Players who have been away from League of Legends and want to play the game in Season 13 might be surprised by Challenges. Simply put, Challenges are cost-free achievements in League of Legends that allow players to chase unique objectives and enhance the customizations of their profiles. If you thought you were cool showing off your mastery points on Yasuo, wait till you sport unique titles like “Player Diff.”

Firstly, a Challenge is identified by its token, a unique icon that represents that challenge, as well as its current rank. The token is at the center of every Challenge card, below the token is the challenge's name and its criteria. Titles are special names earned by leveling certain challenges to specific tiers, you can freely choose between any title you've unlocked.

This is how you get the “Player Diff” title:

The description of the “Player Diff” title reads, “Win games queued as Fill, where you play the position you filled into.” Notably, you’ll receive the title when you reach Platinum Tier in the Challenge, which you will get when you stack 65 Challenger points.

The Diff titles are easier to unlock. Players will only need to win approximately 10 games on their preferred role including fill.

Talking about the “Player Diff” title, pro player Martin "Rekkles" Larsson said, “The best part about being a ‘fill’ player is that you get the tag ‘Player Diff’” He then explained to his stream how tokens and titles work in League of Legends. He added, “It’s worth playing fill because that’s just a good title. It’s a better title than bot diff or top diff or whatever you can get if you queue as specific roles. That’s like above specific role diff. That’s the next level. You’ve reached the next level if you have player diff. That’s all I’m saying.
