Mercenary vaults were introduced as part of the Mercenaries of Fortune event in the Call of Duty: Warzone Season 4 update. While vaults have become staple in Warzone for some time now, the new Mercenary Vaults are specific to the Caldera map only and they are not present in the Fortune’s Keep map. If you can grab Golden Keycards in Warzone, you can open up the Mercenary Vaults and get some high-tier loot to help you on your path to victory.
How to get Golden Keycards in Warzone?
Vault keycards are obtained by opening loot boxes or defeating players who have keycards in their inventory. Golden keycards are obtained only on the Caldera map by exploring and opening loot boxes when you see them.
Once you obtain a golden keycard in Warzone, you can head to a Mercenary Vault.
Mercenary Vault locations in Warzone
Here are all of the Mercenary Vault locations in Warzone that you can head to:
Docks
Runway
Between Dig Site and Mines
Lagoon (East)
Fields
Powerplant
Resort
Unlike other vaults, the new Mercenary Vaults are all located near major points of interest (POIs). Once a game starts, you will notice Transit icons indicating where the vaults are located. Once you head to these locations, open up the hatches leading to the vaults and you will be able to use a Golden Keycard to open them.
If you notice any of the hatches being open, it means that the vault has already been opened and you should look elsewhere or you can engage the team inside the vault if the players are still inside.
Just like other vaults in Warzone, there is a ton of bonus loot and you will be able to get high-tier items that can help you win the game. To complete the Mercenaries of Fortune event you need to open a total of three vaults to unlock the Fanged Assault Emblem
It is recommended to use the new Transit system to move from one part of the map to another as it will allow you to reach vaults much faster. But other players may have the same idea as well and you should be prepared for action.
