Ravagers in Minecraft are one of the most powerful mobs you will encounter, however, they are not a boss mob. They have a health pool of 100 points and are extremely quick despite their size. They can also destroy a wide range of blocks when charging so you cannot hide behind certain blocks to avoid their attacks. While it is difficult to slay them, they drop a large number of experience orbs and sometimes a saddle. Here is how to deal with Ravagers in Minecraft.
Where do Ravagers spawn in Minecraft
Ravagers only spawn in the overworld during raids. They will spawn during wave 3 as part of a raid as unridden ravagers. A ridden ravager will spawn wave 5 onwards. Ridden ravagers spawn with a vindicator or evoker.
How to deal with Ravagers in Minecraft
Despite having saddles, they can only be ridden by illagers. Ravagers are a hostile mob and will attack players, iron golems, adult villagers, and wandering traders if they come within 32 blocks of it. They attack by ramming enemies with their head, dealing a knockback of 5 blocks. Ravagers also attack by ‘biting’ at their targets. When encountering a villager and an iron golem, it will prioritize the golem first.
To slay a ravager, it is useless to use different blocks to survive their ramming attacks as they will break through most blocks. They also run as fast as the player so you cannot outrun them. One way to deal with Ravagers in Minecraft is to dig a hole in the ground. Ravagers cannot get to you and you can jump up and hit it with a sword or any other weapon. You can also climb trees and use ranged weapons like a bow and arrow or crossbow to shoot arrows at it.
When killed a ravager will drop 20 experience orbs and may drop a saddle.
