Apex Legends Season 16 brought an overhaul to the legend types in the game, including giving certain classes special abilities. While Skirmishers can see the contents of a Care Package from a distance, legends can craft banners in Apex Legends for fallen squad mates if you have a Support legend present on your team. This unique trait lets you spawn your team even if their deathbox banner expires. While there are a few steps you need to take before you can do this, here is how you craft banners in Apex Legends
How to craft banners in Apex Legends
Prior to Apex Legends season 16, when the legend class overhaul went live, only Support legends like Lifeline, Loba, Gibraltar and Newcastle could craft banners for their teammates. The new update has made it such that Legend Banners can now be crafted by any player who has a Support legend on their squad. Crafting banners in Apex Legends requires you to gather materials and use a replicator to revive your teammates. Materials can be found scattered across all Apex battle royale maps. Some replicators will spawn by default on maps while others will be air dropped at certain locations throughout the match. You need a total of 30 materials to craft one or both of your squad mate’s banners. Here is how you do it:
Gather 30 materials and look for a nearby Replicator.
Select the option to craft your team’s banners.
Collect the banners from the replicator and find a respawn beacon.
Use the respawn beacon to revive your team.
Note that to access this perk, your team needs to have at least one support legend present. You need the following legends on your team to be able to craft banners in Apex Legends:
Gibraltar
Lifeline
Loba
Mirage
Newcastle
The ability to craft banners was first introduced in the Valentine’s Day patch where legend classes went through an extensive rework, adding a number of new perks to existing legends. Many legends’ classes were also swapped during this time. Gibraltar, Mirage and Newcastle were initially in the Defensive class before being moved to support. Before the class rework, Apex Legends had very few support legends, with only Loba and Lifeline making up the entire class.
The 9th May patch changed the requirements for banner crafting, letting any legend craft them as long as they had a support legend on their team. This incentivised having at least one support character on your roster allowing them to have more of an impact on the game, even if their banner expired.
