The Overwatch 2 Winter Wonderland event is here with a number of new cosmetics including sprays, and the Ice Queen Brigitte skin, which can be earned by completing challenges. One of the challenges involve catching snowballs in one of the new limited time game-modes. Here is how to catch snowballs in Overwatch 2 Winter Wonderland.

How to catch snowballs in the Snowball Deathmatch

The Winter Wonderland event saw the addition of the Snowball Deathmatch game-mode to Overwatch 2 as part of the festivities. The ‘Caught A Cold’ event challenge requires players to catch 6 snowballs in a Snowball Deathmatch. To do this, you’ll need to play a Snowball Deathmatch and use your melee key before a snowball projectile hits you to catch it. By default this is the ‘V’ key on PCs. If you use the melee key in time, Mei will catch snowballs coming your way.

Mei can catch snowballs in Overwatch 2 Winter Wonderland with her melee move.

If you manage to catch 6 snowballs, you’ll complete the ‘Caught a Cold’ challenge. This will grant you the Junker Queen Ornament spray and 1,500 Battle Pass XP and bring you closer to earning the Ice Queen Brigitte skin.

You’ll find the Snowball Deathmatch game mode by navigating to Arcade and and Winter Brawls. Here you’ll find the Snowball Deathmatch, which pits 8 players against each other in a free-for-all. The Snowball Deathmatch is played on Ecopoint: Antarctica or Black Forest. The first player to earn 15 kills wins.

You can earn the Ice Queen Brigitte skin by completing the event’s Season’s Greetings challenge. You’ll need to complete any six challenges that are part of the event to earn the skin. Some of these challenges have individual rewards associated with them. Completing Warmhearted gives players the Kiriko Ornament spray. Similarly completing Caught A Cold, Abominable and Block of Ice gives players the Junker Queen, Ramattra and Sojourn Ornament sprays respectively.
