Among the many features of Call of Duty Warzone 2.0 is one such feature which lets you play with friends across platforms. Unfortunately, the UI (User Interface) can get a bit confusing for players who have not purchased Modern Warfare 2. Here is how you can add friends and enable crossplay in Call of Duty Warzone 2.
How to add friends in Call of Duty Warzone 2.0
The game also let’s you add players across platforms. Players can add friends through their Activision ID. Head to the Social tab, located in the top right corner of Warzone's main menu.

Here you’ll see the people currently in your party and the operator you’ve selected. Ask your friend for their Activision ID which can be obtained by selecting “View My Profile”. They will find the ID on the right side of the screen. Once you get their ID, go to the social menu and click on the Friends tab. Here you’ll find the option to Add Friends. Enter their Activision ID here. Your friend should get a friend invitation in their notification bar.
If you don’t own Modern Warfare 2, the game may keep asking you to purchase it. To avoid this scroll down to the bottom of the main menu and click on the battle royale or DMZ card. Accept an invite from a friend within the battle royale menu. If your friend is unable to join due to not being in the right menu, you may have to restart the game and go to the battle royale menu again and ask for or send an invite again.
In terms of cross-progression, your Activision account records everything that you unlock on PC, allowing you to play on other platforms with the same weapons, loadouts, operators, and vice-versa.
How to enable crossplay in Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0
The first thing that you need to know is that Warzone 2 enables crossplay by default, so it automatically matches you with players on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC. In case you want to disable crossplay on console, you can follow these steps:
Open Call of Duty: Warzone 2
Open the ‘Settings’ tab
Select 'Account and Network' near the bottom
Turn 'Crossplay' off
Note that there is no option to turn off crossplay on PC.
