Hextech Repair Tool in League of Legends: What Is It & How Does it Work?

One such method to learn what’s bothering your client and fix it is the Hextech Repair Tool [HRT]. The Hextech Repair Tool is a handy software developed by Riot Games that can help players troubleshoot League of Legends-related issues. The tool is almost entirely automated and hence there’s no need for players to worry about complex configurations.

Once installed, players just need to run the software and it will handle everything. However, it is important to note that one has to have League of Legends installed on the computer for the Hextech Repair Tool to work.

What are the features of the Hextech Repair Tool?

According to Riot Games, the following are some of the features of the tool:

• Easy reinstallation or repatch

• Firewall management

• Displays known issues in your region

Riot Games added, “Putting the Hextech Repair Tool on your computer is the best first step to resolving technical problems. And if you’re still seeing issues after deploying this pint-sized problem-solver, it can automagically [automatically] gather your system information and LoL logs into a .zip folder.”

Players will then have to send a ticket to Riot Games and attach the .zip folder to resolve their issue. The repair tool’s log-gathering feature collects basic information about the computer’s hardware and is now available only on Windows. However, one can run the tool without gathering logs, and no information about the computer will be collected.

System Requirements to run the Hextech Repair Tool

There are no special requirements to run the HRT. However, one has to have League of Legends installed. Players also need to have a stable internet connection and once installed, players need to grant the tool full administrator rights.

The time the tool takes to solve issues may differ depending on the problem at hand. For instance, if it is a DNS-related issue, it could solve it instantly. However, if the problem requires a complete reinstallation of the game, it could take several minutes.
