The “missing_angelscript_callstack” error in The Finals prevents players from launching into the game.
The following guide will provide you with three different solutions to fix this persistent issue which applies to both Windows 10 and 11.

The Finals is slowly starting to earn its reputation as one of the best free-to-play competitive shooters in the gaming industry. We see thousands of players jump in every day to experience its fast-paced gunplay and destructible environments with their friends. The game currently has over 100,000 concurrent users and is sure to climb up as it gets more updates and added features.

While most of the player base has been getting consistent experiences, some unlucky players on PC seem to run into an error called “missing_angelscript_callstack” which prevents them from launching into the game. Let’s cut to the chase and figure out how to fix this.

How to Fix the “missing_angelscript_callstack” Error in the Finals?

There are three main solutions you can try to fix this persistent issue in The Finals. These are:

Clear the Cache Files of Both Steam and the Finals

While cache files can help you speed things up and load you into the game much quicker, there have also been instances where they can cause unexpected discrepancies in the game files. To clear these accumulated cache files, try the following steps:

  • Open the Run command by Pressing the Windows + R keys.

  • Type in “%localappdata%” in the box and hit Enter to open a window with all app data in your system.

  • Locate the Discovery folder and then delete the Saved folder present in it. Do not worry, this will not damage your game files.

  • Head back into the local app data window and delete the Steam folder.

That is pretty much all it takes to delete the aforementioned cache files. Head into The Finals and see if the game launches or else proceed to the following method.

Launch The Finals in DIRECTX 11

Although most new games run on DirectX 12 due to its improved graphical fidelity and efficiency, you might occasionally run into an issue with your game, especially if you are rocking an older rig. If that’s the case, try running The Finals on DirectX 11 instead. Here’s how you can do it:

  • Head into your Steam library and right-click on The Finals from the list of games on the left side of your screen.

  • From the drop-down menu, open Properties

  • Find “Launch Options” from the General tab and type in “-dx11”

Once this is done, try launching the game and see if the “missing_angelscript_callstack” error disappears. Move on to the next method if the problem still persists.

Roll Back Your Graphic Card Drivers

If you encounter the “missing_angelscript_callstack” error after you’ve installed new GPU drivers, then it might very well be the reason behind it. In this case, you can attempt to roll back your drivers to the previous stable version. Numerous players have reported on Steam forums that this frustrating issue has been solved after doing so. Follow these steps:

  • Search for “Device Manager” in your Windows Search Bar.

  • Click on Display Adapters and you will see your graphic card’s model underneath it.

  • Right-click on it and select “Properties”

  • Head to the Drivers tab and select the option called Roll Back Drivers

  • You will notice your display flickering or turning black for a while. Do not worry as this is a normal process that will not hurt your monitor.

If the above method does not work, you will have to manually uninstall them by heading into Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall a Program > Your AMD or Nvidia Graphic Driver.

After uninstalling, head into AMD or Nvidia’s official driver support site, download the previous version, and install it.

Those are pretty much all the ways to resolve the “missing_angelscript_callstack” erro in The Finals. Unfortunately, if these methods weren’t successful for you, contact Embark Studio’s technical support for further troubleshooting.
