Everything You Need to Know about Fortnite’s Rise of Midas Event in Chapter 5 Season 2
For Myths and Mortals, Fortnite has brought back the fan-favorite antagonist who was first featured in Chapter 2 Season 1. This overarching villain has escaped from his jail cell in The Underworld, attempting to escape the wrath of Hades, by getting aboard The Marigold yacht, and so begins the ‘Rise of Midas’ lineup of quests.
Besides offering several quests, you will also get to experience the Floor is Lava Event and the Rise of Midas Cup, which will grant you several enticing rewards such as Sprays, Pickaxes, Back Blings, Glider, and even the legendary Ascendant Midas Outfit. Here’s everything you need to know about this new event in Chapter 5 Season 2.
Rise of Midas Quests and Rewards in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2
The Rise of Midas event brings five different phases of quests such as:
Midas Rises: Available now
Et Tu, Brutus?: Unlocks on 20th March at 9 AM ET
Jules vs. the Golden Touch: Unlocks on 25th March at 9 AM ET
Myths of Midas: Unlocks on 27th March at 9 AM ET
The Great Marigold Yacht Heist: Unlocks on 28th March at 9 AM ET
Each of these phases will contain several quests within them and completing a certain number of them will grant you rewards such as:
Cerberus Medallion Spray: Complete 6 quests
Rose of Avarice Back Bling: Complete 12 quests
Queen in Gold Glider: Complete 18 quests
Rise of Midas Cup Challenges, Requirements, and Rewards in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2
The Solo Rise of Midas Cup takes place on 24th March for players across all available regions. The specific timings for your region can be found in the ‘Compete’ tab in-game. You have the chance to participate in up to 10 matches across a 3-hour time window where you must eliminate players and secure a Victory Royale.
This will be a point-based challenge and the players with the highest count in each region will be awarded lucrative rewards such as the Golden King’s Cape Back Bling and the legendary Ascendant Midas Outfit before they reach the Item Shop.
Here’s how the placements are determined, as mentioned in Fortnite’s site:
Victory Royale: 30 points
2nd: 25 points
3rd: 22 points
4th: 20 points
5th: 19 points
6th: 17 points
7th: 16 points
8th: 15 points
9th: 14 points
10th: 13 points
11th - 15th: 11 points
16th - 20th: 9 points
21st - 25th: 7 points
26th - 30th: 5 points
31st - 35th: 4 points
36th - 40th: 3 points
41st - 50th: 2 points
51st - 75th: 1 point
Each Elimination will grant you 2 points and players who secure 8 points and above will also receive The Rise of Midas Loading Screen as a reward for their efforts. However, you need to meet the following requirements to compete in this cup:
Your account must have 2-factor authentication enabled
Your Fortnite account must be verified on your Epic account
Your account must be level 15 and above and not be Cabined.
All Active Midas Presents: Floor Is Lava Quests and Rewards in Fortnite
Along with the Rise of Midas events, players can also enjoy the returning Floor is Lava limited-time event that will last until 2nd April at 9 AM ET. Here are all the quests that are currently active as part of this event:
Build 25 structures directly above the lava
Use a Harpoon Gun to pull one player into the lava
Eliminate 10 players before touching the lava
Use the Crash Pad Jr. or Ballons 10 times
Survive 10 Storm Circles
While only five of these quests are active now, players can complete more challenges once they are unlocked during the “Et, Tu Brutus?” event on 20th March. Here are all the rewards you will receive:
Lightning King Uncommon Spray: Complete 3 challenges
Zeus Medallion Uncommon Spray: Complete 6 challenges
