Battlestate Games released the 0.13 update for Escape from Tarkov on 28th December 2022 and brought forth a new wipe to the game. Players have been grinding through quests to reap rewards, gain experience points, and increase their reputation with every trader in the game. Many of the quests in the game have had minor changes and updates.
The Scout quest given by trader Sergey Arsenyevich Samoylov aka "Mechanic" is one that has a minor change in this new update. The only requirement to begin this quest is that the players have to be at least Level 12.
Here’s all you need to know about the Scout quest in Escape from Tarkov that takes place on Factory, the very first location that was added to the game.

When you take up this quest, the Mechanic says that someday they shall get rid of the invisible hand that used to brand them with employee badges. He adds, “I worked here for the chemical plant, as an ordinary foreman. It was a good time, everyone thought so, including me. Now it’s full of Scavs and swarming with brigands and outlaws. I want to make use of some of the factory premises, find out what exits can still be used. Go there and check it out.”
The objectives for the Scout quest are as follows:
Find the first Factory extraction
Find the second Factory extraction
Find the third Factory extraction
Find the fourth Factory extraction
Survive and extract from the location
The developers added the fourth extract during the latest update and hence you require the Factory Emergency Exit Key to complete the quest. You can find this key in the pockets and bags of Scavs as well as in jackets, and it can also be bought off the flea market.
For the Scout quest, you have to visit the following four Factory extractions:
Cellars
Gate 0
Gate 3
Med Tent Gate
You don’t have to visit all four extracts in the same raid but you will have to extract to save your progress. Additionally, the extractions of Cellars, Gate 0, and Gate 3 just require you to get close to their doors. However, for the Med Tent Gate extraction to count, you need to use the Factory emergency exit key to unlock the door and move toward the extraction zone. Following this, you need to survive the raid without dying.
