The third-person mode is a multiplayer playlist that is featured in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (MW2) and Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0. Sometimes playing a third-person playlist offers a change of pace and approach to Modern Warfare 2. Notably, this playlist was initially introduced to Call of Duty in 2009’s Modern Warfare 2 and allowed players to experience the title in a way that is different from the traditional first-person perspective.
However, naturally many people simply prefer the first-person perspective in their Call of Duty games and for them, the third-person mode would be less than ideal. So if you are a Call of Duty player that is looking at how to remove these modes, know that it is just a simple solution and does not take much time.
Here’s how you turn off third-person mode in Modern Warfare 2.
Disabling the Third- Person Modes and Playlists in MW2
Players can turn off third-person mode and playlists in Modern Warfare 2 by heading to Mw2’s Quick Play section and deselecting them in the filter menu.
Here is a step-by-step guide on how to do that:
Go to the Quick Play mode in MW2.
Select the Filter option.
It will be the Square button on PlayStation. On Xbox, you will need to play Press X.
PC users, need to press R.
Now, scroll through all the available game modes until you find any with the “third-person” label.
A classic example is the third-person Moshpit.
Now, simply deselect it and exit from the menu.
Once you have completed the above-mentioned steps, the third-person mode will not appear in your Quick Play games. You will not be randomly forced to join 3rd person matches.
However, if you decide to give the mode a try, you can simply head back onto the filter menu, select them, and add them back to your Quick Play rotation.
Players should note that any new game mode that is introduced or brought back into circulation in Modern Warfare 2 is automatically added to Quick Play. So keep checking the filter menu to deselect modes that you do not wish to play.
Notably, the 3rd person Moshpit mode was removed from Modern Warfare 2 on 26th January 2023, leaving fans baffled. The same mode was removed from Warzone 2.0 on 12th January. Fans were disappointed with this move by the developers and asked for it to come back. Some of them even pointed out that they specifically bought MW2 to play the 3rd person Moshpit mode.
