Highlights
The X12 is allowed in Modern Warfare 2’s Ranked Play with very limited attachments.
You should use the sidearm only when using a sniper as your primary weapon.
The weapon has excellent handling and you can draw it almost instantaneously with the right attachments.

Modern Warfare 2 has a diverse lineup of weapons and very few weapons can match the reliability of the X12. It is currently the only pistol that is allowed in the Call of Duty League ruleset and in Ranked Play. The game also restricts which attachments you can put on the sidearm so coming up with the right loadout can be very difficult. We recommend using the X12 in Modern Warfare 2 only for specific specialized loadouts.

Best X12 Loadout for Modern Warfare 2 Ranked Play

The only time you should use the X12 is with snipers. If you enjoy playing long-range weapons, enemies often have a tendency to push you and you are better off using something like the X12 instead of slower weapons. The sidearm is extremely fast to draw and it can help you react to ambushers better than most other weapons in the game.

Here are the attachments that you should use for the X12:

  • Barrel: XRK LUC-9

  • Trigger Action: XRK Lightning Fire

  • Rear Grip: Cronen Lima 6

With the attachments being restricted in Ranked Play, the trio of the XRK barrel, the XRK Lightning Fire Trigger Action and the Cronen Rear Grip create the best combo. The goal of this loadout is to improve the draw speed and aim-down-sights (ADS) speed as much as possible.

You also get a nice improvement to your fire rate thanks to the XRK Lightning Fire and you should be able to win your close-range duels fairly consistently. The rear grip in our loadout makes drawing the weapon almost instantaneous and you should have no trouble combating foes that rush you.

As we mentioned earlier, you should use the X12 only when you are using a sniper and the X12 is not particularly useful in other situations. Despite the potency of the X12 at close range, you should constantly relocate when using a sniper and keep track of enemy positioning as no amount of mechanical skill will allow you to take on multiple enemies at once.
