Battle Rage is a piece of Tactical equipment in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. The tactical is great for players who favor an aggressive playstyle, especially useful if you commit to gunfights often. Battle Rage was first added to the franchise in Modern Warfare 2 and later to the latest Call of Duty release. Here is all you need to know about Battle Rage in Modern Warfare 3.

What is Battle Rage in Modern Warfare 3?

Battle Rage was first introduced as a Field Upgrade in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. The device worked slightly differently in MW2 than in Modern Warfare 3. Battle Rage is unlockable when you reach Level 13 in the game. The Tactical’s in-game description reads, "Experimental stimulant that gives you an adrenaline rush. Health regenerates quickly, Tactical Equipment is resisted, and Tactical Sprint is constantly refreshed."

Battle Rage was a popular pick among MW3 players during the early access beta as the rapid health regen greatly increased your chances to survive during gunfights. When you activated Battle Rage, you could simply go all-in into a fight, rush toward opponents and take them down and back away with regenerated health. When activated the player’s health would regenerate quickly, and they would gain resistance to tacticals and each kill would increase the effect duration. This led to the Tactical becoming too OP (overpowered) according to some and several players took to social media asking the developer to nerf the Tactical, which Sledgehammer Games did just a day into the beta.

The Tactical was nerfed with reduced max duration, with kills no longer increasing the effect duration and the Health regeneration not kicking in until the kill was secured. The nerf also meant any incoming damage will interrupt the regeneration effect and subsequent kills will no longer reset the duration of Battle Rage.

How to Use Battle Rage

Battle Rage is best used when going into a 1v1 fight, to maximize its effects. While the health regeneration is quick, it obstructs your screen and needs some practice to make use of it at the right moments in battle. Activate it using your assigned key for Tactical equipment as you get into the fight to maximize the benefit but remember, you’ll need to kill the opponent within 6 seconds to activate the health regeneration.

Despite its nerfs, Battle Rage continues to remain a good choice for all-in players, outshining other similar Tacticals like the Stim. That’s all you need to know about Battle Rage in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.
