Highlights
Apex Legends' Season 9 Collection event is likely to introduce Crypto or Revenant's heirloom.
The event should go live by the end of June 2021.
Players will be able to unlock 24 limited-time cosmetics and get instant access to the newest heirloom.

Apex Legends’ Season 9 Collection event should take place sometime by the end of this month. Usually Respawn Entertainment introduces its Collection event at the middle of a season but things may have been potentially delayed this time around due to the recently concluded ALGS Championship grand finals. The Apex Legends Season 9 Collection Event will be adding a host of new cosmetics and a brand-new heirloom. Respawn Entertainment is yet to confirm which legend will be receiving the next heirloom but it is rumored to be Revenant or Crypto. Here’s a look at everything we know so far about Apex Legends Season 9’s Collection Event.

What’s in store at the Apex Legends Collection event

The new Apex Legends Collection event for Season 9 should include a limited-time mode for a couple weeks along with a bunch of earnable and purchasable cosmetics. Traditionally, the Collection event includes 24 purchasable skins and if anyone unlocks all of the skins using Apex Coins or crafting materials, they instantly unlock an heirloom associated with the event.

The new event is expected to be Japan themed with Respawn Entertainment hosting a bunch of mini-events for Arenas since Season 9’s launch and a number of Japan-themed cosmetics being included in the latest battle pass. Revenant or Crypto might be getting the next heirloom according to rumors but there has been no official confirmation yet.

How to unlock the Apex Legends Collection event heirloom

There are two potential ways to get heirloom from the upcoming event. If Respawn sticks to how previous heirlooms have been sold, players can either purchase it with 150 heirloom shards after the event ends or unlock all 24 cosmetics that are available in the event to get instant access. Here are some quick numbers to help you decide if the heirloom is worth it or not:

  • Cost of 24 Apex Event Packs (guaranteed heirloom): 16800 Apex Coins

  • Cost of two special bundles: 7500 Apex Coins

  • Apex Coins + Price of 12 Bundles: 15900 Apex Coins

  • EA Play Subscription: 10% Discount on Apex Coins

For each Epic or Legendary you craft using crafting materials, you will have to purchase one less event pack.

The cheapest way to get the bundle is to craft as many Epic items as possible and then purchase the remaining packs depending on how many items you need. The special bundles include one skin each and cost a total of 7500 Apex coins which lets you save a total of 900 Apex Coins. Getting an EA Play subscription will allow you to get a 10% discount on your coin purchases which can bring down the cost of getting the heirloom significantly.

The alternative to purchasing the event packs is to open normal Apex Packs which cost 100 Apex coins each and get the Apex Legends Revenant heirloom. Unless you are incredibly lucky, the “pity timer” for 150 heirloom shards is 500 Apex packs. If you are close to 500 Apex packs opened on your account and do not have an heirloom yet, you can purchase the remaining packs to unlock the heirloom.

When is Apex Legends Season 9’s Collection event

Respawn Entertainment’s director of communications Ryan Rigney revealed that the collection event will be taking place at the end of June but he did not specify a date. The update is likely to drop on June 29 considering Respawn Entertainment pushes all major Apex Legends content updates on Tuesdays.
