Apex Legends Global Series Year 2: Format, Calendar, Where To Watch
The Apex Legends Global Series (ALGS) has come back for its second year of competition. The series is a competitive ecosystem for PC, Xbox, and PlayStation Apex Legends players featuring a USD $5,000,000 total prize pool, culminating in the ALGS Championship. ALGS will continue through 2021 and end with the ALGS Championship in 2022. The Pro League has a new format with teams from around the world qualifying through a series of online tournaments for the Premier and Major events. Teams will be awarded ALGS Points. The last online tournament will serve as a last chance qualifier for the ALGS Championship.
Apex Legends Global Series Year 2 Format
The new Pro League format sees a year of competitive play with teams facing off with each other in two splits, each with its own qualifiers, regular season, challenger circuit and playoffs to earn ALGS points. The top teams based on points will qualify for the ALGS Split 1 playoffs in January 2022 for their shot at the USD $1,000,000 prize pool. After the Split 2 Playoffs in May 2022, the top 40 teams will face off in the Global Championship for Year 2 of the Apex Legends Global Series and take home a bulk of the USD $2,000,000 prize pool and claim the title of ALGS Champion.
As of now the Preseason Qualifiers have concluded and teams are currently playing the five-week long Pro League Regular Season Split 1 of the ALGS Pro League. Here’s how you can catch the action from each region, including the schedules and results.
