With the launch of Apex Legends: Ignite the developers have finally brought Cross Progression to Apex Legends on a large scale. Cross Progression has officially been rolled out across existing platforms. Respawn Entertainment has stated that this feature will “be phased in over a period of time in order to ensure stability for this anticipated feature.” The feature will allow players to share their rank, profile, cosmetics, Legend unlocks, and skins to their other accounts on another platform.
Does Apex Legends have cross-progression?
Yes, Apex Legends now has cross-progression which arrived with Season 19 on 31st October. Until the patch, players could only switch between the Origin launcher and Steam on PC, where your existing data would be transferred over. Unfortunately, cross-progression is mandatory for all Apex Legends players.
Apex Legends Cross Progression Details
Since the release of Season 19, players can now use the cross-progression system to merge their accounts to continue progress and use their cosmetics no matter what platform they are on. A few things to note;
The account with the highest level will become your “master account,” and your inventory and progress across all your accounts will merge together on that main account.
Unlocked Legends and inventory will be the same across platforms except for platform exclusives, including gifted items.
PS+ Pack Items are limited to PlayStation
Xbox Founder’s Edition and Xbox Gold Items are limited to Xbox
The P.A.T.H. Legendary Skin will continue to be a Nintendo exclusive.
Currency and Progression in Apex Legends Cross-Play
All Apex Coins acquired on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation will be merged into one wallet and these can be spent on any of the platforms. Apex Coins on Nintendo Switch will always remain separate as they can only be spent on that platform. However, new non-exclusive content purchased on the Nintendo Switch is shared with all platforms—and vice versa.
The Apex Coins balance shown will depend on which platform the player is currently accessing. When on PC, Xbox, or PlayStation, players will only see their merged Apex Coins balance; the Nintendo Switch Apex Coins balance is not available. When playing on Nintendo Switch, players will only see their Nintendo Switch Apex Coins balance; the merged wallet balance is not available. Note: stats cannot be merged across platforms, so they will default to your primary profile. Any badges tied to stats from other profiles merged into your EA Account may not be available. Unfortunately, no refunds will be issued for duplicate content. The cosmetics will simply not appear twice in your inventory.
