Yatoro Predicts Team Spirit Can Return To Glory Days
Team Spirit’s star carry player Illya "Yatoro" Mulyarchuk was pulled for a post-match winner’s interview after the team’s lower bracket finals victory against Gaimin Gladiators. Despite BetBoom Team’s dominance in the regional Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) league, Team Spirit were still able to qualify for the upcoming Lima Major as the second representative from Eastern Europe (EEU).
With extra time to prepare, Team Spirit entered the BetBoom Universe: Episode I - Comics Zone in hopes of gaining momentum ahead of their upcoming trip. However, the team ended up securing second place after an exhilarating Grand Finals series against Tundra Esports.
“One month, and we will be the greatest team” - Yatoro on Team Spirit’s strategy to return to glory days
During a post-match winner’s interview, Yatoro was asked about the team’s draft strategies throughout the tournament as the team was favoring more of an early game aggression.
Yatoro responded by saying that the team had changed the way that they approached the game while predicting that he and his team will become the greatest team given enough time. “We are now trying to play more aggressively in the early game. Our goal is to become a team like that. We are making some mistakes, but we're learning from them. I think it will be fine. One month, and we will be the greatest team.” he said.
He also noted that the tournament has helped the team massively, as they were able to spot mistakes in their plays and attempt to fix the issues ahead of their trip to Peru.
“Of course, it helped to show us mistakes that did not happen in Clan Wars [Yatoro’s way of saying DPC] and tournaments are always better to play in because it gives you motivation to win. Also some teams usually did not play at 100% in Clan Wars as they preferred to save it for official tournaments.” he added.
While Team Spirit ended up losing to Tundra Esports in the Grand Finals of the BetBoom Universe: Episode I - Comics Zone, the team will be highly motivated as they prepare to travel to Peru for the upcoming Major.
