Following its final series of the China Dota Pro Circuit (CN DPC), Xtreme Gaming were able to force a tiebreaker to determine the final CN representative for the upcoming Lima Major.
During the post match interview, offlaner Thiay "JT-" Jun Wen talked about the upcoming tiebreaker match against EHOME for the final Major slot.
He also gave his thoughts on the team’s drafting phase while also explaining the reasons behind picking or avoiding certain heroes.

Xtreme Gaming’s Thiay "JT-" Jun Wen was the latest member of the team to be pulled aside for a winner’s post-match interview following its important victory in Division I of the China Dota Pro Circuit 2023(CN DPC): Winter Tour against Invictus Gaming to force a tiebreaker against EHOME.

During the interview, the Malaysian offlaner talked about the team’s upcoming re-match against EHOME as well as his reasoning behind playing or avoiding certain heroes throughout the tour.

“We should be all right” - JT- on upcoming tiebreakers against EHOME

During the winner’s post match interview, JT- started off by immediately talking about the upcoming tiebreaker match against EHOME in the next couple of days. Both teams had previously faced each other in the CN DPC, however Xtreme Gaming had the final laugh as they defeated EHOME with a clean 2-0 sweep.

Feeling confident about the upcoming rematch, JT- noted that the team is confident that they will defeat EHOME again if they stick to their strategies. “To be honest, EHOME's win over Knights surprised us a lot. But for the EHOME series, as long as we keep doing our own thing we should be able to perform to our best. We should be all right.” he said.

He then went on to talk about being an offlaner in current meta, saying that teams should play around the offlaner in the early stages of the game as the player could dictate the pace of the match. “I think each team has their own pace on how to play the game. But I think for this patch, teams should devise their strategies around the offlaners in the early game. This allows them to dictate the tempo of the game for the whole team.” he said.

He then went on to explain about his recent hero choices in the current meta, such as choosing Nature’s Prophet more than the traditional offlane heroes while also avoiding Mars, who happened to be his most played hero in his competitive career.

Nature's Prophet is a very fast in game and quite a strong hero on the line in the current meta. I like to buy Maelstrom a lot and often upgrade it to either Mjolnir for damage output or Gleipnir for crowd control purposes, it helps the team a lot. As for Mars, as things stand it's impossible to win on this hero for the time being, we picked him and lost every game. We have now made the decision that we will no longer take Mars.”

With only one Major slot remaining up for grabs in the Chinese region, EHOME and Xtreme Gaming will face each other in a tiebreaker match scheduled for tomorrow.
