[Watch] Topson Takes an Incredible Counter Kill on His Mid Monkey King

Topson’s relentless drive to outdo his opponents with some big moves in the mid lane is what makes him a special Dota 2 player. While he does fail a few times making him look funny, he is more often successful as viewers go berserk seeing him make these one-of-a-kind moves. A recent stream from Topias Miikka 'Topson' Taavitsainen showed him executing yet another of these tricks in the mid lane. A Nyx Assassin ganked him in the lane, and not only did Topson survive the 1v2 fight but he also unbelievably managed to take the Nyx Assassin out with some excellent outmaneuvers.

In this period of competitive offseason, with OG not participating in any tournaments, Topson seems to have begun streaming on Twitch.

On 25th July, 2021, Topson played a classic mid lane matchup on his livestream - a mid Monkey King against an enemy Templar Assassin. The Templar Assassin was kept away from the lane creeps by Topson, who had an advantageous matchup. The mid laners were quite low at the 3-minute mark after trading hits and taking some damage from the creeps.

Then, the enemy Nyx Assassin came in to support his Templar Assassin as he stunned Topson. Topson dropped to 2 HP but consumed his Faerie Fire in time to stay afloat. Nyx Assassin, who was closer to Topson than Templar Assassin, chased him while Templar Assassin resorted to farming.

After this pursuit, Nyx Assassin once again stunned the OG midlaner whose HP dropped to just 4. With his Mischief ability, Topson miraculously dodged the next right click from Nyx. Nyx had pursued Topson under his tower, so now he was taking hits from it. By combining tower hits and his right click, Topson was able to pull off a stunning kill while simultaneously surviving a gank.

One of Topson's most played heroes in the mid lane is Monkey King, and we have previously seen him outdo his opponents with this hero as well. Topson's performance at The International 2019, where he defeated Aliwi "w33" Omar in the mid lane is an illustration of his ability on Monkey King.

Even though Monkey King is not a meta hero, Topson will be hoping that with a patch coming soon, the hero gets some buffs so that he can take full advantage of the hero during The International 10.
