In the Gamers Galaxy: Dota 2 Invitational Series Dubai 2022, Tundra Esports came into the upper bracket final against Nigma Galaxy very well prepared to win 2-0. So far in the event, Nigma had been playing with pace to overwhelm its opponents and take quick wins, but Tundra Esports drafted in a way that allowed it to take on its opponents head-on. As things unfolded in the two games, particularly the first one, Nigma still relied upon its aggressive playstyle but Tundra's execution was just as good as its drafting. Tundra advances to the grand final with this victory while Nigma drops the lower bracket.

Nigma Galaxy vs Tundra Esports: Match Recap, highlights, and skiter interview

Recap

In game 1, both teams heightened their aggression as they continuously fought with one another. Tundra Esports in particular was very aggressive when dealing with Miracle-'s Queen of Pain, with the supports making some great rotations to kill him. In general, Nigma dropped too many bodies, and Tundra made better trades to gain a networth advantage. Having recorded 41 kills in just 30 minutes, Tundra won the game in a dominant fashion.

In game 2, Tundra once again drafted strong lanes against Nigma. While the result was not immediately evident with Nigma making certain to give Miracle- a better time, teamfights around the 20-minute mark began to tilt in Tundra's favor. The two teams engaged continuously for the next few minutes before Nigma began to back off after giving up more kills. The game went downhill from there for Nigma, having limited teamfight potential and losing in 38 minutes. Skiter was a beast on safelane Luna, finishing the game with a 22-1-KDA.

Here are some highlights of the series.

Interview: Skiter talks about the tactics it used against Nigma Galaxy

Tundra seemed well prepared for this series, as it had plenty of answers to Nigma Galaxy's moves. Furthermore, the team seemed to have learned from its loss to Nigma in the group stage of the event when they got run over. In the postmatch winner's interview, Tundra’s carry player Oliver "skiter" Lepko explained how they prepared for their series.

“We just wanted to have strong lanes against Nigma. It worked out in both of the games and then we have the combination of teamfights, strong stuns, and that sort of things.”

As it turns out, Tundra's strategies paid off today since it now finds itself in the grand final of the Gamers Galaxy: Dota 2 Invitational Series Dubai 2022. Nigma, on the other hand, falls to the lower bracket final where it will face BOOM Esports vs Team Spirit.
