The International 10 (TI10)’s Western European Qualifiers saw Tundra Esports pull off an incredibly convincing 2-0 victory against Team Liquid to qualify for the Upper Bracket Finals. As a result, Tundra Esports is only two series victories away from grabbing a spot at The International 10. The is quite surprising considering Tundra Esports only managed to finish in 5th place (Behind Team Liquid) in Season 2 of the DPC in the Western Europe Upper Division. Tundra Esports vs Team Liquid: Recap, Highlights, and Interview

Game 1: Tundra Esports dominated Game 1 right from the get-go. They easily won the laning phase and took over the map utilizing 33’s Broodmother allowing them to build an insurmountable lead. Despite Team Liquid’s best efforts, they simply could not hold their own against the pressure that Tundra was applying, and conceded the game in just 28 minutes.

Game 2: The second game was a closer affair with Liquid racing to a 14k networth lead just 18 minutes into the game. Team Liquid completely shut down Tundra Esports’ playmaking heroes and secured multiple objectives allowing them to take down two lanes of barracks before the 23-minute mark. However, immaculate teamfighting from Tundra Esports, managed to carve out a win-condition which they capitalized on and secured the win by the 35-minute mark.

Interview: Sneyking wants to play Team Nigma in the Winner Bracket Finals

Sneyking, Tundra Esports' support player, talked about his team's atmosphere after they came back in Game 2 of the series in a postgame interview. “We didn’t really care about how much we were behind,” he stated. “We were trying to focus on how we were going to win the game because we knew that Terrorblade and Batrider would have an absolutely free game if we were going to make it to the late game.”

According to the NA player, the team just spoke about how to stall up the game to give Terrorblade more farm and get to his key item timings. “We always knew in the back of our minds that we were going to be able to win in the late game and we were very confident throughout the game,” he said.

In light of the fact that Tundra Esports will be playing against either OG or Nigma in the next round, Sneyking was asked about his preferred opponent. He stated that he would prefer to not play against OG.

“Personally I have some PTSD of OG, they’ve knocked me out two times at TI Upper Bracket first round. So if it were up to me I would like to play Nigma. I think it would be a change of pace, it would be different.”

Tundra Esports will play in the Winner Bracket Finals at 11:00 PM SGT on 9th July 2021(Friday).
