Offlaner Boxi was absent from Team Liquid's five man lineup for the latter half of the second DPC season and the entirety of the WePlay AniMajor. However, he returned recently and now Liquid has its full force behind them as it enters the crucial The International 10 (TI10) Western Europe (WEU) qualifier. The first series resulted in a 2-1 victory for the team, after which captain Aydin "iNSaNiA" Sarkohi expressed his happiness at having Samuel "Boxi" Svahn back on board. He also touched on Boxi's importance to the team, telling how the latter contributed substantially to their victory over Spider Pigzs.

During Boxi's absence from the active roster due to personal reasons, star Dota 2 player Syed Sumail "SumaiL" Hassan stepped in as a stand-in. While SumaiL played in the midlane, Max "qojqva" Bröcker switched to the offlane. Despite Liquid's success in the DPC season, they looked out of sorts at the WePlay AniMajor with this reformed roster.

Following the Major, SumaiL departed and Boxi returned. With Liquid having won the first series in the TI10 WEU qualifier, iNSaNiA detailed the crucial role Boxi played. According to him, they would not have won this series without Boxi's help.

I mean, it’s amazing. Boxi is definitely like… If you guys could hear out comms, you would be able to tell how much he did for us this game. I don’t think we would have won this game without Boxi or this series. He really stepped up big time and he made a lot of really really clutch calls that I think a lot of other players would have done. So, it’s amazing to have him back. I am really glad to have him back.

While this series was underway, Valve announced new information about the dates and location for TI10. TI10 has been moved from Stockholm, Sweden to Bucharest, Romania, and from 5th-15th Aug 2021 to 7th-17th Oct 2021.

If Team Liquid manages to qualify for TI10, they will have three months of free time between July and October. In terms of what iNSaNiA and his team would do during this period, he said,

“I mean I have been in bootcamp since January so hopefully get to go home to Stockholm for at least a little bit and then straight back to bootcamp. And then just practice, practice for TI. (on playing a tournament in this duration) Probably not directly after but if it’s like maybe one or two weeks later, sure.”

Team Liquid's current roster has been playing together for a long time.

At the time of writing this article, no Dota 2 tournaments are scheduled for the period between July and October.

Currently, Team Liquid is trying to secure the coveted TI10 spot. Their next series against Tundra Esports will take place on 8th June 2021, at 11:00 PM SGT.
