Fnatic vs Tundra Esports: Match Recap and Highlights

Recap

Game 1 witnessed a silent defeat for Fnatic, who did not get a chance to play their style of Dota 2. Tundra dominated the map with its heroes, conveniently farmed on its cores, and was clinical in every aspect of the game. Fnatic was unable to find farm or fight and eventually lost in 29 minutes.

Game 2 was largely similar to the first, except that Tundra was on the receiving end of the blows this time. Tundra picked Earth Spirit for Leon "Nine" Kirilin as the last pick, but the hero had limited impact compared to ChYuan's mid Zeus. Fnatic found kills left and right and cautiously approached a 30-minute win.

Game 3 was headed in a similar direction to games one and two, but Fnatic showed resilience to stay in it. For most of the middle and the later stages of the game, Tundra led by 10k gold but was unable to capitalize on it. When it seemed that Fnatic would mount a strong comeback, Tundra showcased exquisite spellcasting and teamfight skills in a crucial skirmish, defeating Fnatic in 38 minutes.

Highlights

Here are some highlights of the series.

Currently, Tundra Esports is on a roll with six series wins in a row, including the Fall 2021 ESL One grand final win over PSG.LGD. The team seems to be taking advantage of the freshness of the current patch to come up with some new and unique ideas. Its ability to make superior in-game decisions is another area where Tundra is surpassing its opponents.

Due to Tundra Esports' impressive recent form, Fnatic was expected to be the underdog entering this series. Although they displayed their potential in the second game, they had no answers for the enemies in the first and the majority of the third game. Fnatic will look to assess these two games and come back strong in the lower bracket.

In the Sapphire, OGA Dota PIT Invitational, Tundra Esports will face PSG.LGD in the upper bracket final, while Fnatic falls to the second round of the lower bracket, where it will face the winner of Team Spirit vs Team Undying.
