A four way tie between some of the most reuputed teams in Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) Western Europe (WEU) - OG, Team Secret, Nigma Galaxy, and Tundra Esports - has been resolved after six BO1 games. By defeating every single opponent on the day, Tundra Esports came out on top to earn third place. Nigma Galaxy, on the other hand, couldn't offer much resistance to lose all of its matches. Team Secret and OG fought in the last BO1 game for the crucial fourth place finish and it was the latter who executed its strategy to perfection to grab the win. With this, the DPC WEU 2021-22 Tour 1: Division 1 has come to a close.

Tundra Esports and OG emerge ahead in DPC WEU four way tiebreaker

Since all four teams finished the league with four wins and three losses, a four way tiebreaker with nonstop six BO1 matches was necessary to decide who finished fourth to sixth.

To begin the day, OG took on Tundra Esports. The two teams had just played the last series of the league on 19th Jan, where Tundra Esports emerged as a clear winner. Tundra Esports defeated OG again, this time through the use of Leon "Nine" Kirilin's mid Night Stalker.

As the tiebreaker continued, Nigma Galaxy and Team Secret battled it out. Nigma Galaxy had won four straight series during regular league play and the this caravan had begun by defeating Team Secret initially. Nevertheless, Clement "Puppey" Ivanov showed up well prepared this time and drafted an excellent ranged hero-focused draft to gain an advantage and win the game.

Next up was OG against Nigma Galaxy. Nigma Galaxy needed a win to stay in contention, and it put all its eggs in Amer "Miracle-" al-Barkawi's basket, who played a mid Medusa. Nigma Galaxy, however, failed to open up the space they needed and was run over by a carry Templar Assassin and a mid Storm Spirit.

It was then time to invite the winners of their first match to play against each other. Tundra Esports vs Team Secret. Taking advantage of a solid and all-round draft, Tundra Esports once again played a clean game to win the game.

Tundra Esports had two wins and was poised for a third place finish when it faced off against Nigma Galaxy, which was no longer a top four contender. Nigma Galaxy so opted to go for a mid Rubick for Miracle- and the lane went horribly. The other two lanes did not yield any results either. Tundra Esports ended this 26-minute game with 51 kills to Nigma Galaxy's 6. Miracle-'s KDA was 0-10-3, and Igor "iLTW" Filatov's Medusa KDA was 0-16-1. Tundra Esports absolutely tore Nigma Galaxy apart.

OG and Team Secret played the last BO1 game with a fourth place finish on the line. Both teams entered the contest with solid drafts, but OG's minus-armor strategy of Snapfire, Slardar, and Phantom Assassin paid off even though they were lagging behind in the early stages of the game. Artem "Yuragi" Golubiev’s Phantom Assassin found the fateful Double Damage rune just as he completed his BKB, and that turned out to be

Here is what the final points table of the WEU DPC 2021-22 Tour 1: Division 1 looks like.

In spite of there being no Major this year, this tiebreaker was particularly important for the online tournament reportedly set to take place next month. Dota 2 caster, Shannon "SUNSfan" Scotten had recently stated that according to his sources, which included organizations from different regions, the top four teams from each of the six Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) regions (Division 1) will compete in online regional tournaments with $100,000 USD in prize money as well as DPC points on the line. At the time of writing this article, there have been no announcements of replacement tournaments by Valve, however.
