Entity has bid farewell to Tobias "Tobi" Buchner. Tobi has been with Entity for over a year now, and has been an integral part of the team and its performances throughout the Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) 2023 season. The team even competed in The International 11 with the player finishing with a 9th-12th place finish. The team was seen as one of the stronger teams in Western Europe (WEU), however, has had disappointing performances of late which could have lead to this change.
Following the roster change, Entity’s Dota 2 roster currently is:
Alimzhan "watson" Islambekov
Daniel "Stormstormer" Schoetzau
Vladislav "Kataomi`" Semenov
TBD
Dzmitry "Fishman" Palishchuk
Entity in recent tournaments
Building on their successes, Entity Esports displayed their skills in the DPC WEU Tour 1: Division I and secured a spot in the first major of the season, the Lima Major 2023. Despite an admirable run at the Major, the team lost against Talon Esports in the lower bracket, ultimately securing a Top 6 finish.
Moving forward, the team's momentum waned in the subsequent DPC WEU Tour 2 and Tour 3, as they fell short of securing a top-four finish in Division and, subsequently, failed to qualify for both the Berlin Major 2023 and the Bali Major 2023. Missing out on these tournaments has impacted the team significantly, as they’ve lost out on valuable DPC points that could have earned them an invite to The International 2023 (TI12).
Instead, the team will need to navigate through the competitive Western European qualifiers for a path into TI12. The team will face many other competitive teams in this qualifier, including the likes of Nigma Galaxy, OG, Team Secret, and many others. Entity will have to overcome all of these obstacles in order to secure a spot at The International 12.
Tobi's departure from Entity marks the end of a memorable chapter for both the player and the organization. Moving forward, the team will need to recruit a replacement for Tobi before the TI12 qualifiers kick off.
